Alpine Sliding Rock and Moving Preparations

We reached our one-year mark at the end of July! Since everything was crazy with moving and finishing up work, we decided to do a quick outing to the Alpine sliding rock. We'll be celebrating more in September or October.

Garrett shot down the slide faster than anyone else! I was surprised at how smooth and fun the slide was. However, the water in the pool at the bottom is freezing!
Technically the sliding rock is in a no-trespassing zone. Because police patrol and ticket the road at the bottom of the trail, we ended parking a mile down the street in a residential area. However, we realized later that there are some homes near the trail that offer parking, at the price of $5.00. Far less expensive than one of those tickets! Even though there are signs posted no-trespassing, the police we spoke with said that no one ever reports the clear and blatant disregard of the signs. Additionally, there are period signs along the trail saying "sliding rock this way". We figured it was to protect the landowner from lawsuits.
As previously mentioned, we packed. We got a bike box from a sporting goods store and dismantled our bike. *bike boxes are also great for oddly shaped items, frames, and mirrors.
